Crayola Crayons: 64 or 72?

In the fall of 1987, Crayola betrayed its loyal 64-crayon buyers and SCORCHED the art world with its new 72-crayon briefcase full of blues and pinks and purples and reds and blacks (racist). The hard-plastic case held a sharpener, the usual 64 colors, and then 8 EXTRA NEON FLUORESCENT crayons. Guaranteed to make hair fall out and teeth glow. I have no idea when or why they stopped making the sets of 72, but I am totally signing up for the class-action lawsuit that is sure to come forth around 2040. Here's another blog post (bloggers are so original) about this fascinating topic.
