Ranking the episodes of SNL

The sites "One SNL a Day" (seasons 1-43) and "One SNL a Day 2.0" (43-present) have been going through every episode of Saturday Night Live and reviewing them. Each segment (except musical guests) receives a rating from 1 to 5 stars. Based on those rankings, each episode gets an average rating. Using those numbers, the authors have compiled all sorts of stats. But if you just want the ratings for each episode, highest to lowest, through season 44... here they are. I may update this post in the future with further seasons.

WHO'S NEXT v. LIFEHOUSE

The Who's best album is 1971's "Who's Next," which emerged from the ashes of a much longer rock opera, "Lifehouse." Pete Townshend has revisited "Lifehouse" numerous times since the release of "Who's Next," and many of its tracks have seen release... but finding the best versions takes some detective work. Here's my choices, which also span what could have been the followup to "Who's Next," the canceled 1972 album "Rock Is Dead - Long Live Rock."

WHO'S NEXT deluxe CD (1995 or 2003):

I Don't Even Know Myself

Baby Don't You Do It

Naked Eye

Water

30 YEARS OF MAXIMUM R&B box:

Let's See Action (Nothing is Everything)

Join Together/The Relay (segued together on the box)

ODDS & SODS (1974):

Too Much of Anything

This got me thinking about the 2013 list from the Writers Guild's of America listing the 101 Best Written TV Series of all-time.  This includes dramas, talk shows, sketch shows, children's programs, etc., so it's not just sitcoms. But all the sitcoms on the WGA list (below) are also on Rolling Stone's list (above)... with two exceptions: Family Ties and The Wonder Years. Odd.
